The 15th Annual CCIM Commercial Real Estate Forecast Competition has now taken place and was an enormous success. Our attendance and participation were great. Special thanks go to Jim Hussion, CCIM and his committee for producing the event. All who attended learned a great deal and enjoyed our guest speaker, Dr. Mark Dotzour, Ph D. and our ten first class competitors. I thank all of you who took part, helped and attended. Good job!

| Houston Multifamily Outlook 2008 |
With the advent of 2008, Houston's multifamily market is a bit of a mixed bag, although professionals have good reason to be hopeful about the prospects for our market. While the indicators vary for the short-term, there are strong reasons for us to be optimistic about the future. Due to a confluence of factors, the multifamily sector should see increased demand for rental housing in both the short and long terms, although most of the benefit lies further out on the horizon.

| How to Value the Business Enterprise of a Hotel

Business Value; good will; blue-sky; total assets of a business; business enterprise value; identifiable intangible assets; residual intangibles assets; total intangible assets: What do these terms have in common? These are terms currently in use or formerly utilized by those attempting to value an operating hotel or motel. As has been the case since the early 1980's the quantification of the business enterprise value remains the single-biggest issue in valuing an operating hotel/motel.
