Speaker: Robert Stott, Executive Vice President of the Texas Medical Center
Robert F. Stott has been with Texas Medical Center (TMC) since November 1997. Mr. Stott is the primary liaison with TMC’s 46 institutions, the City of Houston and Harris County for the areas of his responsibilities. These include: campus-wide master planning; engineering and construction; grounds maintenance; roadway replacement; security operations; emergency preparedness; and hazard mitigation.
Mr. Stott retired from the federal government after 32 years of service, primarily with the Department of Veterans Affairs. In August 1992, Mr. Stott returned to Houston to assume the duties as Director of the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, a TMC institution.
Mr. Stott served in the Marine Corp from 1959 until 1963 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Health in Health Services and Hospital Administration from Tulane University. Mr. Stott received the Presidential Rank Award of "Meritorious Executive" in the Senior Executive Service. He received two Reinventing Government - Presidential Hammer Awards. He was Past President of the VA's Senior Executive Association and former Chairman, Houston and Gulf Coast Federal United Way Campaigns. Mr. Stott was named as Houston's Federal Executive of the Year in 1994 and upon retirement received the "Distinguished Career Award."
